On the First of July 2025, astronomers detected a remarkable interstellar visitor, 3I/ATLAS. First identified by the ATLAS telescope, its designation marks this comet as the Third Interstellar object ever discovered. From the start, 3I/Atlas' behavior has defied expectations—rapid brightening, unusual morphology, non-gravitational accelerations, CO₂ dominance, polarimetric signatures, plasma plumes ejecting material toward the Sun—witnessing phenomena established comet experts deem difficult to resolve. 3I/ATLAS unpredictability (and on 11 September 2025 newcomer Comet C/2025 R2 (SWAN) was discovered) has fueled waves of speculation, so we focus on what has been firmly observed as of 30 September 2025—with particular attention to the anomalies that challenge the standard dirty snowball comet model.
