Hoover Personae is a melancholic, Truman Capote-esque socialite and writer who serves as the resident scribe for the Garden Grove Organic Supermarket. Armed with an apathetic outlook on life, his primary duty is composing the store's weekly promotional circular. Rather than sticking to sales, Hoover weaves standard grocery item descriptions with deeply personal, tragic exposés regarding his fellow coworkers' private lives. Although he leaves out their names to avoid legal issues, his thinly veiled descriptions have thoroughly ostracized him from the rest of the supermarket staff. Outside of his literary pursuits, he openly disdains movies, has no time for reading, and splits his day between a few hours of writing and drinking a volatile cocktail of vodka and Benzedrine. His crowning social achievement is hosting the annual "Brown and Yellow Ball," a bizarre masquerade where attendees are strictly required to dress in the titular colors and the only refreshments provided are slightly overripe bananas.
