Shimmy is the elusive, slippery-as-an-eel musician who has spent the last few years perpetually lost— first in host Scott Aukerman’s backyard and later wandering the haunted halls of the Earwolf studios. A man of mystery and incredibly brief appearances, Shimmy is perhaps best known for his signature catchphrase, "Got to go!", which he inevitably shouts just as a conversation starts getting interesting (or religious). When he isn’t playing the "upright drums" or the spoons for his band, Townland, he’s busy celebrating his 50th birthday by watching 88-minute documentaries on Dread Zeppelin—though he’s certain the same info could have been conveyed in fifteen. Whether he’s giving you the nickname "Bushy Top," fact-checking the traditional gifts for a 14th anniversary, or hanging out with his best friend Phil Collins, Shimmy is a lovable enigma who will always leave you wanting more—mainly because he’s already halfway out the door.
