Bill Carter is a 99-year-old personal trainer with a pending certification who specializes in elevating clients' heart rates through highly untraditional methods, starting with his first client, Cary Grant. After World War II, a disgruntled Bill broke into Grant's home late at night to yell nonsense at him until the actor's heart rate visibly elevated. Today, he operates without steady clients out of a local Bally's, using a marketing strategy where his giant friend Victor beats up bystanders so Bill can pitch his services. His workouts include strapping live explosives with a two-minute timer to a client's beloved possession or child on a roof, and his chaotic past includes multiple jail stints and intentionally altering an ex-girlfriend's tattoo to look blind.
