Shelly Driftwood is a chaotic, "California cool" storyteller and walking disaster who manages to live a thousand lives, despite mostly sleeping in food bank refrigerators. A man of highly questionable morals, Driftwood is a former Ferrari salesman who now sells Porsches—despite driving a 1989 Prius—and once failed spectacularly at launching a fish-flavored nicotine juice store called Vape Cod. His absurd history includes writing a book that exonerated O.J. Simpson by claiming he himself killed Ron Goldman, getting chained to a bed by the dad from ALF, and losing a scam lawsuit against Target that left him with an eye that sees upside-down. Operating entirely on a philosophy of the "redo," his personal relationships are defined by extreme boundary issues, from ditching his best friend Brett Butler over a lack of salsa to pulling a vulgar facial urination prank on another friend's mother.
