In DC Comics, Barbara Gordon is best known as Batgirl and later Oracle, and she is one of Batman’s most important allies. But in most versions of her story, Oracle is born from trauma, especially in Batman: The Killing Joke, where the Joker paralyses her. But Beware the Batman takes a very different approach to Barbara Gordon. Instead of tragedy forcing her into the Oracle role, this version builds her into it through intelligence, courage, and determination. Long before she ever becomes a costumed hero she proves herself as one of the most capable people in Gotham, someone who earns her place in Batman’s world. This video explores the evolution of Batgirl and Oracle across DC animation, including The New Adventures of Batman, Batman: The Animated Series, The New Batman Adventures, Batman Beyond, The Batman, Batman: The Brave and the Bold, Young Justice and Beware The Batman. From her comic book origins to her role in the Bat-Family, Barbara Gordon has always been defined by one idea: heroism as a choice. And Beware the Batman might be the best example of that. 🔔 Subscribe for more in-depth reviews and analyses of your favourite DC cartoons and comic books! 👍 If you liked the video don't forget to like, share, and leave a comment! 🔔 Click the bell icon to stay updated on future content! 🌟 Become a member for exclusive perks and early access! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC0yFOXbX98P3qz-IvT7uRQQ/join 🎶 Music by Katt Strike - listen to the whole track here: https://youtu.be/VKdA2lCjtas?si=pi0iWvL5bMCJupHL If you enjoyed this video I've got many more you could watch.
