Now that I’ve had a month to dwell on the Season 6 finale of Miraculous, I think it’s time I shared some of my thoughts. The most glaringly obvious detail? The absolute rug pull of the Gabriel Agreste = Hawkmoth identity reveal. What ARE they thinking? Yes, I recognise that the first two episodes of Season 7 is designed to be a two-parter follow up, but the very definition of a FINALE, is that you’re supposed to have some sort of gratifying consequence to the seasons bigger plot points. It’s just so disappointing that Miraculous has finally met the mark and exceeded all wild hopes in its storytelling, only to fall into the tired same old patterns once again. So that’s what I want to discuss today. Why the ending of Miraculous Season 6 left me feeling disillusioned once again.
