Over the past few weeks there’s been some more Thomas Astruc drama over on Twitter/X. I swear I hear at least once a year that there’s going to be no more social media arguments between him and fans and then something somewhere sets him off and we get another tirade. To be honest it’s difficult keeping up with it all and I wouldn’t have even known it was happening if people hadn’t been posting about it on the Miraculous ladybug subreddit. Normally, if it was just another generic argument about the Chloe redemption arc or lack thereof I would have ignored it. This time though, it was more serious. Thomas Astruc’s latest take is that Chloe Bourgeois is not a victim of neglect or abuse. Quite a bold take I thought. So today I figured I’d dive into the reasons why I think he’s wrong, but also why I think he gets defensive about it in the first place and the people bringing this up probably aren’t coming at it from a neutral perspective.
