In this video lecture by Neeraj Saini Sir (#NS_Sir) various terms used in Organic Chemistry have been explained with examples which are very important to understand the concepts of Organic Chemistry. Topics covered in this lecture of Basic Terms of Organic Chemistry (Class 11 &12 | IIT JEE Main & Advanced) by N.S Sir with timestamps are as follows:- 01:51 - 04:27 :- Definition of Electronic effect :- This effect arises due to the shifting, displacement or transfer of sigma or pi electrons. They are of two types : a) Permananet effect and b) Temporary effect Inductive effect (I) , Resonance effect(R) and Hyperconjugation are efects under Permanent effect whereas Inductomeric and Electromeric are the types of temporary effects. 04:44 - 14:42 :- Definition of Inductive effect :- The inductive effect refers to the phenomenon wherein a permanent dipole arises in a given molecule due to the unequal sharing of the bonding electrons in the molecule. This effect can arise in sigma bonds, whereas the electromeric effect can only arise in pi bonds. Example- CH3-CH2-CH2-CH2-CH2-Cl Electronegativity of Cl is more than H so the electrons will be pulled by Cl developing a partial negative charge and H will develope a partial positive charge. I effect is inversely proportional to distance. Hydrogen is the reference atom for Inductive effect. Chapter-General Organic Chemistry -1, is very important to understand for good understanding of Oragnic Chemistry concepts in the upcoming chapters with respect to JEE Main & Advanced. This is the first lecture of General Organic Chemistry -1 ,which elaborates the basic concepts used in Orgainc Chemistry with suitable examples making it easy for a student preparing for JEE Main & Advanced to understand everything clearly. The topics taught in the lecture are in consideration with the latest syllabus for Class 11 & 12 | JEE Main & Advanced. #Competishun This video by #NS_SIR for #JEEMain and #JEEAdvanced covers basic terms which are important for a student to know.
