There are two Marios within all of us. One is all about polish and pure fun, with no concern for foolish stories or dialogue that gets in the way of the action. He is the Jumper, the Hammerer, the Kicker of Shells. And his heart resides within the original Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario 64 more than anywhere else. The other...is a wanderer. He loves crazy mechanics and absurd humor, and he will drop everything gameplay-related in order to tell a good story. He is the Storyteller, the Dreamer, the Speaker of Fake Italian Words. And there is a bit of his spirit in almost every Mario game that has released since he was first born in 1988. Super Mario Bros. 2 is the game where that other Mario, the weird one, was born.
