On May 31st 2025 a rider was thrown from a Chance Rides Zipper owned by Shooting Star Amusements at a fair in Port Hardy British Columbia, a few months later on August 26th 2025 an employee of the same carnival would be killed after entering the ride path while the same zipper was in operation. During both investigations serious operational issues would be uncovered that contributed to both accidents occurring within just months of each other.
