During the summer of 1997, the next door neighbours dogs began barking at midnight on a property located just north of Katoomba. They had been barking erratically in the dark for the at least the past 3 nights. On this particular night, the resident went to the side window to yell at the dogs. When she opened the curtains, she was confronted by a 7ft tall hairy creature standing only 5 metres away picking fruit from a tree.
