This encounter, which occurred on the 13th of November 2018, is what we regard as the best of the year. The event happened at 10 minutes past 10am in the morning on the road from Beechmont to Canungra while driving west after delivering a truck load of supplies to a property on top of the mountain. As the Witness rounds a tight right hand bend coming down the through the hills in his 9 ton empty tipper, he views what at first he believes to be a rock falling from the right high ledge onto the road. In attempt to avoid the rock, the brakes are applied which resulted in a full lockup, and the truck came to a skidding halt. Then the rock stood up on two feet. Besides the overall event as it unfolds, one of the many standouts is the expression of emotions on the face of the creature when it realises it has not only been seen, but its left standing there exposed in the middle of the road, face to face with the Human in the truck.
