AURORA "Pretty early on, I spotted this track as something special," says Steve. "I thought it was the strongest thing we had." Words and music on "Aurora" are beautifully and tightly coupled. This melding of lyric and melody feels like one that would have come as a lightning bolt - born together, inevitable, and inextricably linked. "I remember having a firm sense of the melody and most of the lyrics, but I hadn't yet put the two together," recalls Jon. "Somehow, although the melody line is quite involved and the lyrics are lengthy; it all mysteriously fit together with a flowing, natural cohesion. I first crafted the more complex melody on a keyboard and then the lyrics came after. Aurora is about awakening, remembering, and transformation." "We always said we want to start with Aurora." Steve says, "At first, I thought about having it much later, because, 'Hang on! How are we going to follow it?' I wasn't quite sure about track two, but Thomas was certain.
