"Jon's written Turnaround Situation, and it is a fantastic song," enthuses Steve. "It was so inspiring to me that I got him a guitar. I wanted him to have a Martin. He's the YES lead singer! He should have a Martin!" "I brought in 'Turnaround Situation'," says Jon. "The phrase 'turnaround situation' and its accompanying melody came immediately to mind one dark night as Emily and I were driving home from Curtis' studio. We kept missing the next street and had to repeatedly turnaround. Emily then said, "This is quite a turnaround situation!' I have a silly habit of sometimes repeating what she says by singing it back. As I suddenly improvised the melody, I immediately knew I had something cool. Instead of doing the right thing by helping Emily get out of our navigation predicament, I was quickly singing into the phone so Id remember the melody! The song is ultimately about overcoming the lower ego nature and embracing the empowering ability of listening to and trusting one's higher self or intuition."
