In this video, Zeus breaks down the War Flag of Steel Storm, shows how its damage really works, and explains why physical damage teams are suddenly far more dangerous. 🔥 WHAT THIS VIDEO IS ABOUT The War Flag of Steel Storm was released during the Emerald City event, and on paper its effect looks simple. Physical skill damage dealt to multiple enemies is increased by 12%, with each red pattern adding another 3%. Fully patterned, that becomes a 21% bonus. At first glance, 21% does not sound game-changing. But after testing it in Foundry and Arena, the results showed something much more important. The flag appears to calculate its bonus from the total combined damage dealt across every enemy hit by the same ability. That means heroes who damage several targets at once can generate far more bonus damage than most players expect. 💡 KEY TAKEAWAYS In a controlled Foundry test, Isaac used his third ultimate with Nebula and Sebastian supporting him. Isaac dealt more than 4 million total damage across five enemies. The War Flag of Steel Storm then added roughly 840,000 pure damage on top. That closely matched 21% of the combined damage from Isaac’s entire ultimate, not just one individual hit. This is the key discovery. The flag rewards total multi-target damage. It does not only care about the biggest single number. A more realistic Arena example makes the mechanic easier to understand. If Isaac deals 200,000 damage to each of five enemy heroes, that is 1 million combined damage. A 21% bonus would add around 210,000 extra pure damage across those targets. Isaac and Keira are obvious winners because their skills can hit the entire enemy team. Mushy and Shroom may benefit even more in specific situations because their copies and Spore Mushrooms create many additional hits. In one Foundry test, the war flag alone produced more than 1.1 million pure damage while supporting Mushy and Shroom. That damage came from the flag itself, separate from the hero’s normal skill damage. ⚔️ WHY THIS MATTERS The biggest lesson is that Steel Storm rewards width, not only raw power. Heroes that hit more enemies at the same time can create a larger combined total and therefore a larger bonus. That changes how physical teams perform in real battles. When tested in full Arena teams, Isaac was able to win against magic defenses that previously gave him serious problems. The flag did not simply make his numbers look better. It changed which matchups he could realistically win. This does not mean the Hero Wars meta has completely shifted to physical damage. Magic teams are still powerful, and the next hero or balance change could move things again. What Steel Storm has created right now is stronger competition between both sides. Physical damage dealers no longer feel as far behind, while magic teams still remain viable. This shift was not caused by Somna or another new hero. It came from one war flag that many players initially underestimated.
