A rough Imperial barracks ballad about Andrej Valatok, the Armageddon Steel Legion, and Grimaldus during the siege of Helsreach. This song is inspired by the traditional singalong structure of “The Wild Rover” — especially the pub-ballad cadence and chorus style — but it is not a cover, does not use a sample, and has original lyrics, arrangement, and Warhammer 40K-inspired storytelling. In the ruins of Helsreach, the Armageddon Steel Legion fought beside the Black Templars as Orks tore through the hive city. Grimaldus became the Hero of Helsreach, standing like a living monument of faith and fury. Andrej, meanwhile, became the kind of soldier the Imperium usually forgets: battered, sarcastic, useful, somehow still alive, and apparently marked dead before payroll could find him. This version imagines the story as a song sung by soldiers after the fighting — half tribute, half pub chant, half complaint to the Munitorum. A Steel Legion survivor brings ammunition, trouble, and one final question: if he is recorded as dead, does he still get paid?
