A bit of an oddity here, Crossed Swords II was the first Neo-Geo game that was denied an AES/MVS release and went straight to the Neo CD, to push their new console, probably because this felt more like a game suited for the home market when they wanted to focus almost entirely on fighting games for the arcade market. Yes, there is an MVS bootleg that you can play in emulators but it uses recycled music from Crossed Swords 1, so we wanted to get the authentic experience here. As for the game itself... uh... well I do think it's an improvement over the original, but I think it still has a lot of problems. Maybe it's just me but it kinda feels the enemy variety somehow got worse than the first game? The combat is better though, being able to B button slide around the screen feels nice, but there are still a lot of enemies that force you into No Fun Allowed mode if you want to kill them. I dunno, the Crossed Swords games just still have never really clicked with me.
