Overcast days will come into every life. With the clouds comes doubt, despair and even depression. But we must realize there may be blessings in cloudy days. I was reminded of a song that used to minister to me and lift me thirty years ago. It may seem depressing at first, but it was remarkably accurate in what I was experiencing. -You turn to face the morning -You can feel the rain -Before you even look outside -Through a cloudy windowpane -You're reminded of the grey -You feel inside -You cry, "God, I can't go on -Will time ever heal the wounds -I feel I can't hold on another day When I first heard that I thought the songwriter was looking right into my soul. Then comes the encouragement -When a mountain of sorrow -Leaves a river of heartache -In a valley of darkness -That you don't understand -Take the high road to Heaven -At the crossroad of Calvary -To the refuge of Jesus -Lay it all in His hands -And let it go The song is Mountain of Sorrow written by Jim Chapman and Tony Elenburg and sung by Heirloom. Anyone understand that song? Do you feel the rain before you even look outside? Through a cloudy windowpane, you’re reminded of the gray you feel inside. There is a purpose for the gray. There are blessings in the cloudy days.
