Carol sees it as an opportunity to stay well in and stay put at the Gallagher’s by turning the back yard into another Eden, but this ruffles Veronica’s feathers who has her eye on the prize herself and some pretty ugly mother / daughter rivalry ensues. Gardens are stolen as others are vandalised and accusations of cheating are screamed through the fence. Fiona on the other hand has troubles of her own when she discovers that Steve is receiving loving text messages from another woman. Not sure what to do she turns to Veronica who tells her to put him to the test and when Steve fails by lying to Fiona as to where he’s been things are not looking good between them. As Carol and Veronica’s warring reaches a climax during Carol’s birthday celebrations a row breaks out between the two households and Kev blurts out the truth behind Steve’s secret liaisons. Everyone stands amazed but only until Marty gives out a shocking and lurid revelation of his own concerning Kev. Fiona and Veronica’s lives are turned upside-down as they both grapple with how to deal with their men.
