Neville is the antithesis of Frank, a life long union man who never missed a days work in his life and who despairs at Frank’s lack of employment, whilst Frank is reduced to a sulking boy in front of his domineering father. Seduced by Sheila’s hospitality Neville decides to stay on for a few days and sets out on a mission to find Frank a job. Meanwhile Karen, Sheila’s daughter, is back on the estate and has found herself work serving behind the bar at the Jockey. But this creates a few problems for Kev when Veronica sees her as a sexual threat, making eyes at him and getting a big share of his tips. A fight ensues and Jez, who’s persuaded by Karen’s sexual charms, takes her side and bars Veronica from the pub. Karen is sitting pretty whilst Veronica is reduced to wearing various disguises in order to get served and keep her eye on Kev. With a little help from the ever adoring Debbie, Frank thinks he’s found a way out of job hunting with his dad by announcing that he’s found employment on a window cleaning round. He’s out early every morning to spend his day sat in the Jockey in pretence of being in employment. But Neville soon gets suspicious and decides to accompany him on his round one morning to give him a hand. When Neville discovers the truth behind Franks scam there’s a dramatic and near fatal show down between the two.
