On Monday, the defense delivered its opening statement in the case against Lindsay Clancy, who is accused of killing her three young children inside the family’s Massachusetts home in January 2023 before attempting to take her own life. Prosecutors allege Clancy intentionally killed Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months, using exercise bands. The defense argued Clancy was experiencing a severe mental health crisis related to postpartum illness, saying she knows she killed her children but that they were loved, cared for, and nurtured up until their deaths.
