Salting involves adding a unique random value (the salt) to each user's password before hashing it. Key stretching is a cryptographic technique designed to improve the security of passwords and keys by making the derivation process more computationally intensive and time-consuming. RESUMEN El hash es un algoritmo matemático que se utiliza sobre datos, como un archivo, un mensaje o un correo electrónico, para producir una cadena de caracteres hexadecimales de longitud fija llamada hash, o número hash. Salting es agregar sal para darle sabor a una contraseña, Salting implica agregar un valor aleatorio único (la sal) a la contraseña de cada usuario antes de aplicar el hash. La extensión de claves es una técnica criptográfica diseñada para mejorar la seguridad de las contraseñas y claves al hacer que el proceso de derivación sea más intensivo en términos computacionales y lleve más tiempo.
