Named after Julius Caesar, who supposedly used it to communicate with his officials, it involves shifting each letter of the original text a fixed number of positions up or down the alphabet. RESUMEN El cifrado César es una de las formas de cifrado más antiguas y sencillas que se utilizan en criptografía y es un ejemplo clásico de criptografía simétrica. Recibe su nombre en honor a Julio César, quien supuestamente lo utilizaba para comunicarse con sus funcionarios, y consiste en desplazar cada letra del texto original un número fijo de posiciones hacia arriba o hacia abajo en el alfabeto.
