Catwoman has always been one of Batman’s most enduring foes. From her earliest days as a jewel thief in the 1940s, Julie Newmar and Eartha Kitt bringing her to life in the 60s, and Michelle Pfeiffer and Batman: The Animated Series giving her a modern edge. Of all of Batman’s foes, she has changed less than most. When The Batman reintroduced her in 2004, it was with a sleek new look, big yellow goggles, and the same playful charm. But unlike the radical reinventions of The Joker, Riddler, and Clayface, this Catwoman played things safe. She flirted, she stole, she teased Batman at every turn and she always slipped away before the cuffs could close. But she didn't add anything.
