On today’s episode of Murphys Diesel, Wrecker Rick gets the call for a damsel in distress stranded deep in the wilderness outside Snowflake, Arizona. After trying to help a friend who had suffered a medical episode, her act of kindness was rewarded with a broken-down Blue Bird school bus, harsh criticism online, and public ridicule from another towing company and members of the community. When our followers began tagging Murphys Diesel and asking if we could help, we knew this was exactly the kind of recovery mission we love to take on. Nobody deserves to be torn down for trying to do the right thing, so we’re loading up the world’s largest off-road recovery truck and heading into the Arizona backcountry to pay that kindness forward. Today’s mission takes us nearly 13 miles off-road through rugged mountain terrain outside Snowflake using our Oshkosh 10x10 equipped with a Zacklift DWU. Recovering an abandoned school bus this far from civilization is anything but easy. Between rough trails, steep terrain, and unpredictable obstacles, this heavy-duty recovery pushes both the truck and crew to their limits. Can the 10x10 conquer the trail? Will the abandoned Blue Bird bus make it back out of the mountains?
