On today’s episode of Murphys Diesel, it’s crunch time trying to make it out to the Off-Road Games in Hurricane, Utah, and as always… nothing goes according to plan. This year, Wrecker Rick took on way too many extra projects (thanks to Mrs. Wrecker Rick 😅), knowing full well he wasn’t going to get her Suzuki done in time. Instead, we’re thrashing to get an entire fleet of custom built off-road wreckers, semi trucks, and military trucks ready for the trip to Sand Hollow State Park. That includes HB — the world’s largest off-road wrecker built on a Ram 5500, our insane 10x10 military trucks running Zacklift detachable wrecker units, and Indiana Holmes, the world’s largest 6x6 off-road wrecker. Of course, we couldn’t leave out the American Dreamliner semi truck, even if it’s just along for show this time. And because that somehow wasn’t enough, now we’ve got two Can-Ams to prep so we can actually enjoy the rocks and sand once we hit Hurricane. You’re welcome, babe. This trip always turns into a full-on debate between Ram vs Ford trucks, heavy-duty towing setups, and which builds can actually survive real off-road recovery situations — not just look good on the internet. If you’re into semi trucks, Zacklift wreckers, military truck builds, or extreme off-road recovery, this is about as real as it gets. Mrs. Wrecker Rick and the kids (aka the crotch goblins) are loading up in Fat Fanny Annie and the Brinkley and heading out ahead of the boys while we’re still in the shop trying to make miracles happen. Honestly, this is our favorite time of year. Getting out to Hurricane, Utah, wheeling at Sand Hollow, and meeting all of you who follow along with the builds — that’s what makes all the late nights worth it.
