Merry Christmas from Prospecting 101 ! To celebrate, I'm doing an extended "Aussie Bush Christmas Special" ... By digging up some old, new and unseen footage of the marvellous experience we call gold prospecting. Now I have to tell you a bit about what I'm on about in the first part of the video, being a West Australian I follow the original home team - the West Coast Eagles ... And it just so happened that when my Ole Mate and I discovered the Honeypot Gold Mine in 2005 ... Our footy team made it to the Grand Final (think Super Bowl for Aussies). But they lost by 4 points, it was the closest Grand Final since 1977. Actually we could have won except for a game-saving mark (catch) from Leo Barry (probably still not paying for drinks in any Sydney pub). Fast forward to 2006 and they same teams are again playing for the trophy ... And another close game, our Eagles won by one point - It was great to be out in the bush for that ! The juice flowed freely, even our pet mascot "Spotty" wanted in on the celebrations hehehee. Here are a couple of clips I made from these two epic Grand Final clashes (click on the links below).
