Oleic acid increases that activity of the enzyme D6D and decreases the activity of the enzyme FAAH. D6D activity is involved in creating a cannabinoid called Anandamide (AEA). FAAH breaks AEA down. When D6D activity is high and FAAH activity is low, AEA builds up, leading to the munchies combined with low metabolic rate. This ultimately leads to obesity.
