Kaidan and the Dragonborn return to the Thieves Guild to tell Brynjolf about the mysterious mark they found on the deed to Goldenglow Estate. Brynolf tells her to talk to Mercer Frey right away. Mercer then decides to send the Dragonborn to Solitude to seek out an Argonian thief named Gulum-Ei for more information. Before heading out, the Dragonborn stops to chat with Brynjolf. They are getting to know more and more about each other as time passes. They then travel to Solitude and meet with Gulum-Ei in The Winking Skeever. He tells her he’ll give her more information if she steals a case of Firebrand Wine from the Blue Palace. As the Dragonborn steals the wine she overhears a woman calling Kaidan’s name. Her name is Adalyn Sylvain and apparently her and Kaidan knew each other a long time ago. The next time we visit Solitude we’ll stop by and chat with this mysterious woman from Kaidan’s past. After giving the Argonian the wine he tells the Dragonborn what she needs to know. However, Kaidan still doesn’t trust him and they decide to follow him to see where he goes. They end up inside the East Empire Company’s warehouse. Unfortunately for a few of the guards there, neither Kaidan nor the Dragonborn are very good at sneaking. Luckily the Argonian they were following never noticed. After confronting Gulum-Ei, he finally tells them the information they need and they head back to Riften to tell the guild.
