We got on the bus in Bangkok around 6 p.m. and we arrived on the island of Koh Tao around 10 a.m. the next morning. The entire journey cost us around $20 each... If you're looking for the cheapest way to get between Bangkok and Koh Tao, this is probably you best option. However, if you value you time, I would highly recommend flying from Bangkok and then taking the ferry to Koh Tao. Our journey included several random stops, including a random bus station in the middle of the night, getting dropped off in the middle road, and arriving at the ferry pier at 4 a.m..
