Montreal Mayor Soraya Martinez Ferrada visited the city’s Côte-des-Neiges district on Tuesday, a day after an officer was killed in a fatal shooting. Montreal police said Monday a civilian and the suspect were also killed in the ensuing gunfire. “You can feel the pain,” Ferrada said to reporters Tuesday morning after touring the community. The mayor criticized graphic images shared to social media in the wake of the tragedy and called on the federal government to “go further” on the issue of gun control.
