Currently Playing: Montreal police officer, civilian killed in shooting identified

The police officer who was killed in a shooting in Montreal has been identified as Mohamed Lamine Benredouane. Montreal police say the 34-year-old had been with the force since 2021. The civilian who was killed has been identified as Michael (Michel) Moshe Mizrahi. The Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA) said in a statement late Monday that it is mourning the loss of Mizrahi, describing him as a beloved member of Montreal’s Jewish community and an innocent victim, and offered condolences to his family and loved ones.
