From its narrative structure, to combat, to its magic system, and of course, its patented sanity system, Eternal Darkness does things differently, yet comes together into a cohesive title. Eternal Darkness was made out of a partnership with a rising western studio, Silicon Knights full of promise, under the guidance of some of Nintendo's most notable staff. Which makes revisiting Eternal Darkness such a joy and also a bummer. There was so much more this series and studio had to offer. However, this was not to be as the studio had a downfall in which they shot themselves in the foot instead of external meddling, something that's oh so common in the industry.
