SpaceX has announced Starbase, Louisiana - the world’s largest private spaceport, on Pecan Island in Vermilion Parish along the Gulf Coast. The 125,000-acre site will feature ten Starship launch pads, a massive production facility, on-site propellant and power generation, and supporting infrastructure, with SpaceX investing $100 billion and creating more than 3,000 jobs. Construction is planned to begin in 2027, leading to the first Starship launch in 2029. This expansion supports high-cadence operations needed for Artemis lunar missions requiring extensive orbital refueling, rapid Starlink V3 deployments, the planned Starmind orbital AI datacenter constellation, and SpaceX’s goal of up to 30 Starship flights per day by 2030, underscoring the company’s full commitment to its fully reusable super-heavy-lift vehicle. 🤵 Hosted by Ryan Caton (@DPodDolphinPro). 🖊️ Written by Alejandro Alcantarilla Romera (@AlexPhysics13), Ryan Caton (@DPodDolphinPro), & Joe Kangas. 🎥 Video from Max Evans, Ceaser G, Colleen Liedtke, Nomadd, D Wise, Starbase Live, SpaceX Governor Jeff Landry. ✂️ Edited by Ryan Caton (@DPodDolphinPro). 💼 Produced by Kevin Michael Reed (@kmreed).
