Currently Playing: Rasputin: The REAL Story Behind This Controversial Figure

Rasputin got poisoned. Shot. Shot again. He got back up, ran into the snow, and finally drowned in an icy river. That’s the version Felix Yusupov gave us. He was there, he helped kill Rasputin, and then he wrote a memoir that made the whole thing even crazier. I’m going through the police files, the missing autopsy, Alexandra’s letters, the medical crisis that brought Rasputin into the imperial family, the ministerial appointment records, and the assassination story that turned one very messy murder into a supernatural legend. Rasputin was not harmless in any way. He drank, pursued women, gave his enemies plenty of real material, and became inseparable from a court already losing the country’s trust. But the version where he was an unkillable demon running Russia from behind the throne? That story might be a little out there. The police files are weird. The letters are worse. The autopsy is missing. And once you start pulling the story apart, it gets a lot less clean. DISCLOSURE: This video uses a synthetic narrator and AI-assisted visuals.
