Can GPT-6 Astra actually control SketchUp and build a 3D model from a floor plan? In this video, I connect **GPT-6 Astra with SketchUp using MCP (Model Context Protocol)** and test whether AI can actually create an architectural SketchUp model from reference images and a floor plan. I first show the complete **SketchUp MCP setup and connection process**, including how I installed the MCP server, connected it with GPT-6 Astra through Codex, started the MCP server inside SketchUp and verified the connection. I give GPT-6 Astra a floor plan and reference images and ask it to analyze them and build the house directly inside SketchUp. The result is impressive but definitely not perfect. Astra manages to create much of the exterior geometry and produces editable grouped elements inside SketchUp, but I also found several issues with interior layouts, window openings, wall connections and room placement. I then give Astra additional prompts and corrections to see whether it can understand the mistakes and improve the model. This is a real-world test of where **AI-powered architectural modeling** currently stands and whether tools like GPT-6 Astra, MCP and SketchUp could become part of an architect's future workflow.
