Can ChatGPT Astra actually build a complete Revit model from reference images and a written prompt? In this video, I connect ChatGPT Astra directly with Autodesk Revit and give it architectural reference images, a floor plan and a detailed project brief. Then I let the AI work inside Revit and build the model almost entirely by itself. The complete process took around **29 minutes**, and the results were much better than I expected. Astra created the exterior walls, interior rooms, sloped roofs, doors, openings, floor plans, building sections, area schedules and even started preparing documentation, all while working directly inside Revit. But it wasn't perfect. I also break down where the AI struggled, including room layouts, bathroom fixture placement, closets, openings and some architectural details. This is a real-world test of what AI can and cannot currently do inside a BIM workflow. The final model achieved approximately: • 2,047 sq ft heated area • 2,927 sq ft total area • ~29 minutes processing time • ~340 AI credits used I also explain how loading your Revit families before running the AI could reduce processing time and credit consumption. In the next test, I'll push Astra further with Revit tasks like view naming, dimensions, documentation, model organization and other BIM automation workflows.
