After that, the difficulty gradually increases: the older episodes are easier than the recent ones. The difficulty depends on the speed at which Hugo speaks, but also on the topic. So some episodes may seem difficult because of the vocabulary rather than the speed. You can use this list to get a general idea of the level of the episodes: - Episodes 1 to 34: A2 (beginner +) - Episodes 35 to 80*: B1 (intermediate -) - Episodes 80 and over: B2 (intermediate +) for solo episodes / B2-C1 for conversations between Hugo and Ingrid or interviews * with the exception of episodes 40 & 74, which are C1 (advanced)

The Outsider is the second most read francophone novel in the world. Albert Camus wrote it in 1942. The story takes place in Alger, the capital of Algeria, when this country was a French colony. The hero, Meursault, is a young man working as a clerk. From the outside he seems to be just like you and me. But by listening to him telling his story, we quickly understand that it’s not the case. Meursault appears to be completely emotionless. We are under the impression that he’s an outsider to his own life. In this novel, Camus shows us the absurdity of human existence through his narrator’s eyes. I’m sure that this fascinating story will give you some food for thought!
