For more than a decade now, the hypothesis that there was once a second Sphinx, as a counterpart to the Great Sphinx, has long been popular amongst alternative researchers, but the evidence has always been lacking. Many have looked for it, and some believe they know where it is, or at least once was, so now I’ve taken a closer look at all the claims to independently evaluate their credibility. So far, there have been three main contenders for its location. The first is just north of the Great Sphinx and facing east, the second is next to the Tomb of Khentkawas and facing west, and the third is on the other side of the River Nile, facing the Giza Plateau. Of course there’s a fourth option as well, that no second Sphinx ever existed at all. In this video I evaluate the main claims with a critical eye and we try and say once and for all if there were two Great Sphinx monuments at Giza, and if so, where exactly the other one was located.
