http://www.journeywithcandice.com We applied to the Walk On Program last November with a view to Candice starting in 2014. The program works in partnership with Spinal Cord Injuries Australia and Edith Cowan University and is designed to help people get 'back on track' after a spinal cord injury. The aim is to improve Candice's functional abilities through her individually tailored, intensive activity based rehabilitation program. Each session -- out of the wheelchair - lasts two hours and she will build up from once weekly to twice weekly sessions. This is the third aspect of Candice's Treatment Plan to be paid out of the funds raised at our fundraiser. We are sure this will improve Candice's quality of life through the general health benefits she will gain. We also believe it will boost her self-confidence and give her an increased sense of wellbeing. The application & assessment process, described in the video, was quite full-on and we were so relieved when we heard that Candice had been accepted and will start the program on 16th January 2014!
