Original music for my game, Out of Touch! Check it out, it's free! www.patreon.com/story_anon Composer comments: For this one I went full-on crazy. I kept the same tone, sound, and vibe as the Combat scene one, but turned up to 11. It's definitely faster than the previous, both in tempo and pace, and has a more syncopated flow. As for the sounds, as always I went analog. The main, super distorted bass, in particular, is a thick 6 voices analog synth that goes through an analog effect pedal from GameChanger audio, which is basically a miniature tesla coil and distorts the audio through plasma (how cool is that?)! The overall sound design leans more toward the acid/techno side of things, but with that classic Carpenter Brut grit, a bit of inspiration from Infected Mushrooms for the arrangement, and lots of bass. Like the final version of the last song, this one goes straight into the action. The song starts with a really short and rhythmic intro, which serves also as a good transition between looping points. It then goes into the drop. Here I kept it packed but simple, kick drum and bass. It then evolves into B and C sections, where different sounds take the lead and the bassline changes melody to a more tonal one. After the drop, there's a short breakdown where the main melody is introduced. For this more melodic part I wanted something cheesy that grounds the track back into 80s territory, and feels a bit "videogamey". The melodic part is then abruptly interrupted by the mean bass, and it goes once again in "crazy mode". To keep it dynamic, I recorded the bass while playing with knobs and sliders live, to make it feel more "alive". After this second, heavier and varied drop, there's another melodic part. The song then goes into the final drop, where the bass screams even harder, while the main lead sticks around to play some more. It then ends with a last reminder of the melody, before going back to the start (in the looping version). After the song was finalized, I touched up the mix (added some sidechaining to give it the "pumping" feeling), and then mastered it pretty loud, which adds to the character of the song.
