I adore the sentiment behind this title. It’s like a jazz funeral, sort of. It’s a celebration of what once was, bellowing out a passionate brass piece in memory of such a meaningful presence that is now missing from people’s lives. It is not explicitly outwardly depressing, but you can feel a powerful, mournful sadness beneath the intent. I just find such beauty in the idea of using what precious little there is left of the wit and vigor in one’s decaying body, to remember a person with such woefully high regard as is expressed here. There’s such profound honesty in sadness, don’t you think? - The uploads of my favorite lesser-known Caretaker singles have been taken down recently, so I guess it falls upon me to restore them.
