This is the second chapter of the curious story of Miho Hazama. Miho has taken over the Danish Radio Big Band. In this chapter, we travel back to 1960s New York to trace the legacy that Miho is carrying forward today. Former chief conductor Jim McNeely tells the story of how Thad Jones, together with drummer Mel Lewis, reshaped big band jazz with their vibrant orchestra in New York - and how Thad left it all behind to come to Denmark, where he went on to revolutionize the Danish Radio Big Band and leave a lasting mark on its sound and identity.
