With these concerts, the choir marks the transition into autumn through an experience where darkness and calm are allowed to settle, so that everyone on stage and in the audience can fully surrender to the darkness and the power of music. Specifically, the lights in the concert hall are turned off, and the choir performs an entire concert without a conductor, in complete darkness. In the autumn of 2025, the "In The Dark" concert featured iconic melodies and lyrics from the 1980s—and in addition to The Danish National Girls’ Choir, one of Denmark’s leading young jazz artists, harmonica player Mathias Heise, also took part. ### Lyrics for "Sad I Parken" (Sat In The Park), composed by the Danish artists Jens Rugsted and Stig Kreutzfeldt, with lyrics by Dan Turéll, in 1978: Sad i parken på en bænk Fik et fugtigt lille stænk Dagen brød frem og solen gik i ring Jeg genkendte slet slet ingenting Hallo derude alle sammen Hvornår går toget væk herfra?
