The Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) is made out of widely spaced millimeter-wave observatories connected to act as a virtual telescope with the resolution of an Earth-sized radio dish. This animation shows the locations of the observatories making up the EHT at the time of 2017 observations, outlining the long baselines between them.
