Polarization allows us to tell apart images that would otherwise look very similar! Here we examine two simulations from the Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) collaboration library, and show how both linear and circular polarization give us insights into the plasma conditions. We use these clues to figure out how black holes grow and power jets. The Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) is an international collaboration that images black holes with polarization by creating a virtual Earth-sized telescope.
