This video shows the global network of radio telescopes in the Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) array that performed observations of the black hole in the galaxy M87 in April 2017. With a technique called Very Long Baseline Interferometry they were combined into a large "virtual" telescope as large as the Earth. Credit: C. Fromm & L.
