On Nov. 30, 1945, the Nuremberg Trial commenced a Special Proceeding on the petition of counsel to defendant Rudolph Hess regarding his competency to be tried. Towards the end, Hess asked to approach the Tribunal and discussed his competency. The Judge ruled in a separate the ruling the following day. For further information, see www.roberthjackson.org.
