On Jan. 3, 1946, the U.S. prosecution at the Nuremberg Trial called Otto Ohlendorf, Commandant of Einsatzgruppen D which committed atrocities in Estonia and Ukraine, as a witness. Here is an exchange between Russian Judge Nikitchenko and Ohlendorf focusing in on why were children massacred. Ohlendorf responded by saying "the order was that the Jewish population should be totally exterminated." For further information, see www.roberthjackson.org.
